Additional Info:	Chris Foss is a bassoonist and emerging artist located in Los Angeles, California. He is currently the contrabassoonist with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, alongside freelance, and has made many appearances on bassoon and contrabassoon the regional orchestras of New England and also as a festival participant in Canada, Italy, and the United States. Earning his MFA at California Institute of the Arts in 2015 he performs a wide range of new music, improvisation with electronics, and world music styles. He began his music studies in music education and put much energy into promoting the bassoon in the schools of his home state New Hampshire. Following his switch to bassoon performance he completed three research grants on the study of bassoon reed making, the final of which allowed him to carry out conservatory training at the Gaetano Donizetti Institute in Bergamo, Italy. His first professional appearance was that of contrabassoonist for a summer opera performance in the Duomo of Milan, Italy under maestro Claudio Scimone. His teachers include Janet Polk, Giorgio Versiglia, and Julie Feves.
