Additional Info: A native of Bourbonnais, Illinois, is a professional bassoonist, private instructor, and a graduate student at the University of Illinois, where he is the Teaching Assistant in the bassoon studio.
An active orchestral musician around Central Illinois, he holds the Principal Bassoon position with the Urbana Pops Orchestra and is second bassoon with Sinfonia da Camera. In addition, he can be found
performing with the Illinois Symphony, Champaign-Urbana Symphony, the Millikin-Decatur Symphony, Danville Symphony Orchestras, and the Sugar
Creek Opera Company. He has traveled around the world performing with groups such as the South Shore Orchestra on their 2014 tour of China.
As a solo performer, Chris has performed with the Millikin Decatur Symphony, Millikin's Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Kankakee Valley Symphony. A winner of the 2015 Millikin University Hollis Prize, he performed
his prize-winning recital in the Chicago area.
In his studio, Chris has been teaching bassoon privately since 2010, and has worked with students from beginners to collegiate level players - many of whom have gone to perform in All-State ensembles and pursue music careers. In addition, Chris works as a bassoon instructor at the
Illinois Summer Youth Music camps.
Chris graduated Summa cum Laude from Millikin University in Decatur, IL with a Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Performance. His Primary teachers are Timothy McGovern, Stephen Duncan, Elizabeth Shoemaker, Mark Avery, and Neal McMullian.
